Red Hat is on a mission to be the catalyst in communities of customers, contributors, and partners creating better technology the open source way. The UXD team helps make Red Hat products easy—and enjoyable—for all people to use. Our global team of researchers, designers, content designers, and developers work together to bridge the technical world to the human world with intuitive and approachable product experiences. While each of us has unique skills and talents, we all agree that the best ideas come from diverse minds and fresh perspectives. What you will do

  • Contribute to an interdisciplinary team that includes other user experience designers, developers, product and marketing managers, and other stakeholders through all phases of the development cycle.
  • Identify the right problems to solve, gauge the usability of products, and make sound recommendations for improvements.
  • Clearly understand and articulate the information architecture, workflows, and processes surrounding the user experience.
  • Create wireframes, mock-ups, and prototypes to effectively communicate design intent.
  • Partner with UI developers to ensure technical success.

What you will bring

  • You are currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in interaction design, visual design, human computer interaction, human factors, computer science, or a closely related area.
  • You have some experience with the user interface design process and methodologies like Design Thinking.
  • You have user experience work samples linked in your resume or presented in a portfolio.

The following is considered a plus:
