Technical Software Project Manager role at LoanWell in Durham

LoanWell in Durham is hiring a Technical Software Project Manager

This job might already be filled.

is an automated loan origination and portfolio management solution for community lenders — banks, credit unions, CDFIs, loan funds, and foundations. We've built the "Squarespace for Lenders", a white labeled platform with end-to-end functionality for application intake, origination, task management, underwriting, closing, servicing, and reporting. LoanWell automates the back office so the community lenders can do what they do best — fund our local small businesses. We are a mission-driven FinTech, helping increase access to capital for those typically left out of the financial system and improve access to affordable capital for the small businesses that power our local and national economies.

We value people who can have an opinion yet commit even when they disagree. We talk through ideas and challenge each other, but all remember that we’re here for the same purpose: to do good work together and provide greater access to capital for all. That comes with direct feedback, openness to each others’ experience, and willingness to show up for each other as well as for the technical work at hand. We’re in this for the bigger picture.

THE POSITION
The Technical Project Manager is a senior level position that will work in close partnership with the CEO and CTO to lead the work on all aspects of product support and development. We are looking for a seasoned project manager who is capable of running our product support process, managing and balancing timelines and requirements from internal and external stakeholders. Product development will be driven alongside support through improving end-user experience and also take the form of new tooling for internal and external use. This role will require a curiosity to understand the technologies we use as well as a clear eye to maintaining the quality of our platform. We will probably ask you about your opinion about how to solve problems, so hopefully you’re excited by that. We also want you to bring your own experience to bear in verifying functionality within the platform. We're quick to trust that you can do it, and here to support you in making it so. You can expect to be counted on.

This role will also manage direct client interactions and oversee timeline and deliverable communication with customers in order to ensure project success. Demonstrable experience in these types of communication scenarios will be part of the interview process so be sure you feel comfortable in doing this type of work. You will also need to speak to your experience managing a software development team in an agile environment.

The growth plan for this role would be to eventually become more of a traditional SaaS product based project manager as our Configuration Studio becomes the source of more of our focus as a development team. Being able to keep the long term vision in mind for our platform as we work is crucial for this role to succeed.
