About this opportunity

The Sr SQA Engineer will be part of the PR&D Software team in Raleigh, NC.  This team's mission is to innovate and take new orthodontic devices to the market. The Software team develops the next generation of 3D applications (ported to cloud), to engineer the shape of our customized, mass-production appliance and increase the applicability and efficacy of Align clinical treatments. The position requires 3D engineering mindset, enthusiasm and adaptability to work cross functionally.

In this role, you will…

• Manually test 3D software applications that are developed on windows platform and ported to cloud.
• Author testing strategies that ensure excellent quality product.
• Collaborate with the engineering team that contains 3D C++ development, BA, Cloud development, manual SQA and Automation QA in the same team.
• Effectively communicate with cross functional partners that are Bio Mechanical engineers, 3D printing process engineers and product management to make understand the context of the requirements.
• Work collaboratively with product owner and development team to execute feature based releases.
• Operate as a part of a scrum team focused on research and development: actively participate in sprint planning, demo and retrospective, attend daily standups.
• Act as a stakeholder in product definition from conception to initial release to mass scaling, contribute to definition of product success criteria.
• Execute manual tests for 3D software, visually inspect 3D objects, find patterns with strong passion to get to the bottom of the things
• Work closely with Software Development Engineers in Test to automate tests for 3D software functionality
• Iterate with stakeholders, business owners, software developers, mechanical engineers and internal end-users to understand different aspects of the features
• Understand the end-to-end process
• Work with bugs throughout their life-cycle

In this role, you’ll need …

• 8+ years in software testing mostly in manual testing.
• Experience testing 3D applications. For Example: 3D / CAD / CAM software, VR / AR etc.
• Experience working in Agile teams.
• Thorough understanding of the role and best practices of SQA, testing processes and methodologies
• Analytic thinking, ability to systematize information and learn complex things quickly .

Nice to Have:

• Programming experience is a very strong positive. Python or C++ would be excellent.
• Exposure to AWS or other cloud platforms is a strong plus.
• Experience in startup or research team
• Experience working in distributed team
