Spiffy has developed a full-stack platform to simplify car-ownership by letting you manage your car-care from an easy to use app that is available for iOS and Android. Our platform has been designed and developed in-house to meet the needs of both our customers and our Spiffy Technicians who service vehicles throughout the country. As a member of the Spiffy Engineering team you will work in the Spiffy World-Wide Headquarters (located in Research Triangle Park, NC) alongside a talented and passionate crew to implement new functionality for the Spiffy suite of applications. You will engage with the product and marketing teams to build cutting-edge products that simplify the car care process. Help us advance our car care platform while having fun and expanding your technical skill set. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems, Technical Program or comparable work experience

  • 3+ Years of Javascript, Ruby on Rails and/or Mobile Development THE RIGHT CANDIDATE

  • Is a creative problem solver who likes to develop innovative solutions to tackle day-to-day issues that arise in a startup

  • A team-player who is ready to work collaboratively

  • Is a self-starter

  • Is able to juggle multiple tasks and projects

  • Has a love for penguins TECHNICAL SKILLS DESIRED

  • Understanding of web development standards including HTML, CSS and JS

  • Experience with Ruby on Rails

  • Basic data-modeling experience for relational databases (RDBMS)

  • Working understanding of RESTful APIs

  • Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies

  • Unit Testing and Automated UI Testing BONUS POINTS FOR EXPERIENCE WITH ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • Motor vehicle industry

  • HAML, SASS/SCSS

  • ReactJS and/or React Native

  • Writing SQL

  • Atlassian JIRA

  • Git and Github.com

  • DevOps processes including Continuous Integration/Deployment via Bitrise

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) functions such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS

  • Nginx, Phusion Passenger, Ubuntu and Sidekiq

  • Mobile UI/UX Experience
