## About the job
The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for a highly motivated and skilled Software Engineer to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will contribute to one of our most important and innovative projects, Red Hat Hybrid Cloud Console, which is the customer-facing platform for most of Red Hat’s managed cloud services. You will serve as an engineer on a team responsible for delivering UI features and improvements for the console.redhat.com platform Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings. As a developer on the team, you’ll write code, review pull requests and fix bugs all within an agile environment. You’ll need to be friendly and collaborative and have passion for learning. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

What you will do

  • Design and develop new features and prototypes while collaborating with other team members, including full stack developers and user experience designers
  • Collaborate and innovate cross-functionally with other engineers and developers to deliver creative solutions for console.redhat.com, including product and infrastructure enhancements
  • Communicate with the Product Management team to understand new features and ensure alignment during feature development
  • Use agile software development methodologies to quickly adapt to changes in requirements
  • Work with the Quality Engineering (QE) team to ensure that features are tested correctly

What you will bring

  • 2+ years of experience in software development and engineering
  • 1+ year(s) of experience programing with at least one UI framework; React or Angular are a plus
  • Experience with Go or Python development
  • Experience building production workloads in public clouds, e.g., Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure
  • Experience designing REST API interfaces
  • Comfortable with rapid iteration and fast delivery
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Experience with the following is considered a plus:

  • Linux containers
  • Microservices architectures
  • Red Hat OpenShift
  • Open source software
