As a member of the Host Systems Team, you can expect to:

  • Work with development to create test cases that reflect real customer use cases
  • Automate regression testing using tools like Jenkins
  • Continuously analyze and enhance test coverage

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain high quality test automation using modern development techniques and provide key data points to support metrics-based decision making
  • Apply automated tests at every layer of the application stack, both inside and outside of the continuous delivery pipeline
  • Produce and analyze metrics that illustrate the quality of applications and develop insight that drives the direction of quality engineering
  • Work with team to promptly triage test failures with precision and accuracy, maintaining the health of the build pipeline
  • Work collaboratively with development, operations, and support peers  to encourage quality as a key design element in all work efforts
  • Engage in code reviews for product, test, and infrastructure code
  • Protect users from escaped defects, participate in support escalations, and value Customer Experience (CX) above all
  • Understand the role of development, migration, security, and performance in the continuous delivery lifecycle
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve automated test frameworks, tools, and scripts that address specific needs using tools such as Jenkins
  • Maintain test suites in a version-controlled environment
  • Program in one or more languages such as Python, Java, Perl, shell, etc

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related quantitative field
  • 2-5 years of relevant full-time working experience
  • Working knowledge of at least one programming language such as C+, SAS, Python, Java, Groovy, etc
  • Conceptual understanding of at least one markup language like XML
  • Conceptual understanding of agile processes and iterative software development
  • Some experience writing software applications, testing software, and/or general programming
  • Working knowledge of source control management techniques along with participating in code reviews

Preferred Qualifications

  • Programming experience with C, Java and SAS
  • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining test automation frameworks
  • Experience with Agile software development principles and practices
  • Experience with SQL programming or SQL databases
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and associated tools, such as Jenkins, Git, Gerrit, Gradle
  • Knowledge of Cloud providers like Azure, AWS, Google, etc
  • Strong knowledge of Unix and Windows environments.  Bonus points for some knowledge of z/OS.
