We’re hiring a Senior Front-end Developer to join our growing product team. We’re looking for a strong collaborator with a background in consumer web products and iterative development. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a flexible, small team work environment where they can make a direct impact.

About the Role

Pocket Prep provides several web portals to its world class learning content as well as internal tools for customer support and content creation. As our product continues to evolve, development is needed across these sites to ensure they offer our customers the latest functionality and a polished experience. As a member of our web team you will be responsible for ensuring this platform continues to shine and that new features are rolled out successfully. 
We continually have new challenges to solve and your days will include a variety of tasks including:

  • Developing new components to be used across our portfolio of apps
  • Working with analytics and data to understand how the product is being used
  • Updating our Types and UIKit packages to conform to the latest designs
  • Improving our components' accessibility for all customers
  • Adding new automated tests, either when bugs are found or new features added
  • Working with the server team when bottlenecks or more optimal solutions are identified
  • Keeping dependencies and packages up to date

Requirements
We're looking for a team member that enjoys collaborating and learning along with the rest of us as we help make professional education available to everyone. We appreciate self starters and problem solvers that operate well in a team environment but also individually.

About you

On day one we'll expect you to have:

  • 5+ years of experience with modern JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • 3+ years of experience with Vue, React, Angular, or a similar framework
  • Fluency with source control management, particularly git
  • Passion for collaboration and teamwork
  • Experience with task planning and ticketing tools like Jira, Pivotal, etc
