We’re hiring an experienced, energetic Product Manager to join our growing product team. We’re looking for a strong collaborator with a passion for building mobile or web products with 3+ years of experience as a Product Manager.

We empower our product team to solve complex problems that align with our customers' goal to pass their certification exam. Our team is highly collaborative and works across multiple touch points. You can expect strong partners in design and engineering as you work to uncover product opportunities, compare and contrast solutions, and test ideas.

About the Role
The Product Manager at Pocket Prep will lead product development for projects across multiple products. They will maintain light-weight processes that enable experimentation for quick learning and iterative product development.

The Product Manager will become an expert in our customer needs and pain points as well as broader market trends, and that expertise will fuel strategic planning with the Director of Product to shape the roadmap. They will manage upcoming work for the product team, track multiple moving parts throughout the project lifecycle, keep stakeholders informed of project status, and analyze and share out performance post-launch. They will leverage their creative problem solving and communication skills, working closely with customers to drive new features and products of value for Pocket Prep.

Pocket Prep uses Continuous Discovery Habits to identify opportunities to pursue, and a blend of Agile and Shape Up methodologies to facilitate the planning, project management, and tracking of development work. Our approach to shaping and planning work has evolved alongside our team and business growth, and our expectation is that it will continue to evolve and improve.

Though we are a small company, we are well past our startup stage. Our B2C product has a strong product-market fit, and we have a highly talented, responsible team and an extremely healthy work culture. Employees aren't expected to wear multiple hats, work nights and weekends, or meet deadlines set by a board of investors.

What you'll do

  • Foster a deep understanding of our customer’s needs, pain points, and desires
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of our competitors
  • Collaborate closely with design and engineering throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Identify opportunities to pursue and embrace an iterative approach to test those opportunities
  • Maintain the product roadmap and keep the company informed on all things related to your projects
  • Maintain excellent communication and documentation between design, engineering, and marketing teams throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Identify key performance indicators for the projects you work on, and monitor and report on those KPIs as the product is improved over time
  • Support backlog grooming, ticket creation, and bug triage, as needed

Requirements

  • At least 3 years in a product management role
  • Experience collaborating closely with both engineering and design
  • Experience conducting, analyzing, and interpreting user research
  • Basic data analysis skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and accurately disseminate information

Preferred experience

  • Familiarity with Continuous Discovery Habits
  • Proficiency with the Atlassian suite
  • Computer science or product design background
