To that end, we are looking for a Product Manager focusing on JMP and JMP Live user experience to join our team.
 
You’ll have the opportunity shape the future at JMP. You can expect the following in your first year:

  • First: Get onboarded and learn about the current product management and R&D plans for the next major versions of JMP and JMP Live. You’ll spend time with each R&D team, the product management team, peers and internal stakeholders understanding our biggest UX challenges, our product vision and the current product roadmaps in place.
  • Next: You’ll acquire a deep understanding of our customer’s needs and challenges in our core industries and collect data on top tasks when using our software. You’ll determine opportunities for improvement with an eye for both the new user experience as well as advanced users who need to work efficiently, automate their processes and think about the entire end-to-end analytic workflow in JMP. You’ll work with customers through the Early Adopter Program, by partnering with R&D and the product management team to design and run JMP lab activities and be firmly focused on identifying the biggest opportunities to improve the JMP and JMP Live UX.
  • Within the first Year: You’ll make your mark on the JMP Roadmap, the product direction and the UX strategy seen through your significant contributions to both the product management team and through your partnership with the R&D teams. You’ll identify strategic customers to collect data from and data synthesizing the needs of not-yet-JMP users and present your proposed strategy for JMP’s UX roadmap to key decision makers and executives within JMP. You’ll present your ideas for strategic changes in both internal and external forums and you’ll have established the style guides for JMP and JMP Live.
    What you’ll do
  • Collect UX requirements for JMP and JMP Pro using a variety of different input mechanisms and strategies.
  • Write detailed functional specifications.
  • Build a UX product roadmap, maintain a backlog of projects and help manage the prioritization of on-going efforts.
  • Conduct research, run customer feedback sessions, collect data from current users and not yet users and define and monitor metrics to measure the overall impact of new features or changes.
  • Build prototypes, design mock-ups and provide detailed feedback and recommendations for projects in process and new features in development.
    What we’re looking for
  • Minimum 4 years experience in product management, UX design or research.
  • Experience with one or more statistical computing languages such as JSL, SAS, R, Python or MATLAB desirable.
  • Bachelors or master’s degree in UX design, engineering, computer science or related field.
  • Experience with the unique UX considerations of desktop statistical software.
  • Expertise in systems like Jira, Confluence etc.
  • Proven track record of translating customer needs into actionable requirements.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • An organized and process-driven mindset.
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team.
