Written Word Media is seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Operations Assistant to support our mission of empowering independent authors and publishers. Training and Hours:

  • Training: Comprehensive training is provided for all candidates to ensure they are well-prepared for their responsibilities.
  • Work Hours: This position is part-time. We are looking for a commitment of approximately 10 hours per week, with the understanding that some weeks may require more or fewer hours based on department needs and deadlines.
  • Location: This job is fully remote, however, candidates must be residents of North Carolina to be considered.

Here’s what you will do:

  • Customer Support: Provide top-notch customer support to independent authors and publishers via email and live chat, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and care.
  • Payment Processing: Review promotional bookings to ensure book information is accurate and meets our editorial standards before processing payments.
  • Operations Administrative Support: Assist with content creation, data entry, occasional email campaigns, and other administrative tasks as needed to support the operations team.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of accuracy and quality in all tasks, ensuring low error rates and efficient completion of duties.
  • Technology Utilization: Use various tech tools and platforms to manage tasks, including WordPress and social media, to support our operations and marketing efforts.

  • Possess excellent writing and editing skills, able to create clear and engaging content.
  • Be comfortable with technology and navigating various web platforms and tools.

Additional Useful Skills:

  • Prior experience in customer service roles is a plus.
  • Familiarity with WordPress and social media platforms.
  • A love of books and reading, bringing a personal passion to the role
