Rho has a unique opportunity for a dynamic leader to work closely with company executives and key stakeholders across the business to own and lead both external and internal communications. As Executive Director, Marketing and Communications, you will have the opportunity to own and drive the corporate message used for Rho’s employees as well as external customers. We have a great story to tell! You’ll tie together all aspects of Rho’s brand story and develop a communication strategy to ensure the company is using a codified-united message.  You will report directly to our Chief Commercial Officer to drive the business forward as well as align, direct, and drive all marketing initiatives to align with sales growth, and you’ll work closely with the President, as well as HR and OD leadership to develop change management strategies that cultivate our company culture.

The ideal candidate we are looking for is experienced in working with C-Suite leadership, is a creative problem-solver who has deep understanding of the CRO sales cycle and what moves and motivates customers.  You will manage the priorities and workload through a small internal team, agency support, and direct execution. You’ll need to have the capability and adaptability to define the marketing and brand strategy as well as personally pick up work to execute the tactics. In doing so, you will be responsible for managing the marketing budget and expenses.  Lastly, you will use and develop data driven insights to shape and measure campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Increase the effectiveness and impact of internal communications to support business objectives, employee engagement, drive organizational change and to provide knowledge and information that supports the Company’s best practices and culture.
  • Generate new ideas and distribution channels to communicate Rho’s business, brand and culture.
  • Translate complex written communication into concise and clear presentations.
  • Develop and manage a marketing strategy and yearly budget to grow Rho's business in the pharmaceutical and biotech market in both the US and Europe.
  • Develop and oversee the execution of marketing campaigns.
  • Drive digital strategy to focus on increasing pipeline and conversions.
  • Work closely with our business development and lead generation team, develop, execute, and measure campaign-focused marketing plans and lead generation programs.
  • Create content assets in conjunction with subject matter experts and ensure that all messaging and materials are in alignment with corporate brand strategy.
  • Work with agency to oversee and manage website analytics, content, and landing pages.
  • Increase the effectiveness and impact of internal communications. Draft, review and edit internal communication documents or emails to ensure consistency in messaging throughout the organization.
  • Establish a communications and marketing calendar
  • As needed, manage executive content for internal meetings.
  • Create impactful, integrated, inspiring internal communications program that drives understanding and action throughout the organization driving our culture and ensuring corporate values are aligned.
  • Provide strategic input on internal messaging and positioning to ensure narratives are engaging and aligned with organization’s tone.
  • Work closely with HR leadership to create communications and materials supporting Rho’s employee experience.
  • Work within functional areas to build awareness and use of organization’s communication vehicles such as intranet, emails, video, social media, printed materials, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree, preferably in communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience within internal and external corporate communications, marketing and brand strategy, and related strategies (developing both corporate communication and marketing long-term plans), including years of experience in Life Sciences Industry, CRO experience; preference for candidates who have experience owning corporate brand and have led and executed a successful rebrand.
  • Highly collaborative individual who is comfortable working with multiple stakeholders to gather information required for communications and presentations; experience working directly with C-level executives, as well as SMEs to deliver a broader executive visibility plan; ability to work across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software applications and experience with marketing software; knowledge of SharePoint is ideal; clear and advanced writing style and editorial skills with an increased attention to detail and with an analytical approach, aligning communication strategies with business strategies.
  • Manages stakeholder’s expectations in alignment with workload and deadlines. Follows through on commitments.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
