We are looking for a Customer Account Manager to join our team to make an outstanding contribution to the growth of our Mid Market and Emerging Business regional sales.

Operating as part of a passionate and successful team, our Customer Account Managers will upsell and cross-selling Avalara's complete range of Tax Technology solutions and services , to our customers in the region, and working with our Customer Success Team to gain intimate knowledge of our customers business.

This is a hybrid role that must be located in Durham

What You'll Need to be Successful

  • Establish and grow professional working relationship and network with daily users up to the executive level
  • Execute campaigns and use networking opportunities and technologies to guide lead generation with existing ecommerce, retail, software projects requiring tax or cross-border compliance solutions
  • Manage a pipeline of cross-on and up sell opportunities within a set of existing accounts against a quota
  • Provide forecasts and risk analysis to direct manager and track customer and partner interaction, using Salesforce
  • Use Experience digging into prospects' pain points and validating the issues they're facing for sales calls, product presentations, webinars and face-to-face meetings and hosting demonstrations and partner webinars
  • Present a professional image via Experience establishing communication and engagement with prospects
  • Create a win-win environment for the client and Avalara by negotiating issues related to contracts, pricing and service fees.
  • Work in a team environment with a Customer Success Manager to promote client retention and satisfaction

About the Team

  • Experience in existing business, quota-carrying sales role
  • Candidate will report to Senior Manager of CAM
  • 2+ years' experience in B2B selling of managed services, SaaS software or VAT related services to tax, finance, IT or business owners at a senior level
  • Experience being held to and motivated by metrics
  • Experience establishing communication and engagement with prospects both internally and externally
  • Experience prioritizing sales opportunities based on ICP
  • Territory and account planning discipline
  • Desire to continue a career in software and technology
  • Specialized knowledge of the retail, software, logistics, finance, accounting or tax industry
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience using CRM systems (e.g. salesforce.com).
