What you’ll do:
As a Software Developer within JMP, the premier product for statistical discovery, you will use modern technologies to expand our capability to create web-based statistical graphics with JMP's signature interactivity. This interactive content is hosted in JMP Live - a new and evolving platform that enables scientists and engineers to collaborate and share statistical discoveries and insights in the convenience of a modern web browser. Examples of our visualizations are here: https://public.jmp.com.
 
You will be involved in all phases of design, development, and maintenance of the content generation engine, and you will also have the opportunity to evangelize this product to customers. You will use your solid understanding of C++ and JavaScript to extract data from the desktop product to enable interactive visualization in the web browser. Applying your familiarity and desire to become proficient with JavaScript and web technologies, you will thrive in this role. Your experience in developing quality software and problem solving will help you become a strong contributor in our team.

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree or greater in Computer Science or related quantitative field
  • 5+ years professional experience with C++
  • Familiarity with JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
  • General knowledge of software engineering tools, methodologies, and principles
  • Strong interpersonal, documentation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to think analytically and effectively communicate issues and solutions
     
    Other knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Knowledge of graphics programming, particularly 2D data visualizations
  • Experience with multiple operating systems, particularly Windows and Mac OSX
  • Familiarity with HTML5 Canvas
  • Familiarity with Node.js
  • Familiarity with mobile browsers, particularly iOS Safari and Android Chrome
  • Knowledge of statistics is a plus** **
